That little spoken about and mysterious part of the brain. Have you ever wondered how the subconscious mind works? What role does it play in your life? If you've no idea, you don't want to miss this. In this post I explain the subconscious mind's function and amazing abilities. I also show you how it directs your relentless cycle of self sabotage and baffling behaviors.

Each of us are born with a perfect inbuilt survival system which serves as our base program for life. The subconscious mind. From the third trimester until death, our subconscious mind records 24/7 at rate of 11 - 80 million pieces of information per second. Just let that sink in for a moment. That is a phenomenal amount of information. Imagine, your subconscious mind misses absolutely nothing that is within ear or eye shot, making a note of it all, forever. This rate of recording smashes even the fastest modern day computers out of the water.
Your subconscious mind runs 98-99% of your life, it automates any and all repetitive actions such as, breathing, our heart beat, hormones etc through to our behaviors. In short, you are not running your life at all. You are merely an actor in your own movie and you your subconscious mind is the director and script writer on auto pilot. Your base program is doing all the work leaving you to do very little except deal with day to day conscious thought and actions.
The subconscious mind is unthinking, an excellent observer and recorder, it does not think at all. Your subconscious mind does not care about anything other than performing it's job. That job being to keep you safe within the tribe. To achieve this is records and scans the data collected from your environment for repetitive patterns, marking them as safe or unsafe thoughts, actions or behavior. In a nutshell, this is how the subconscious mind works.
Whilst all that may sound pretty handy and in many ways it is, it's vital to realize that we must take great care in what repetitive patterns, thoughts and behaviors we are exposed to. If your subconscious mind wants to find the safety in repetition and therefore in numbers and does not think then you are at risk of being programmed to think, act and behave in ways that may not serve you to your highest good.
This my friends, is where self sabotage comes in. All those undesirable, baffling patterns of seemingly unrelated yet self sabotaging behaviors start to make sense when you have eyes to see. As a self sabotage coach, I work with people to help them recognize their negative programming and reprogram their subconscious mind to serve them to their highest good.
